An accidental discovery of the sacred books of the Manicheans in the 1920s permitted the scholars to reconstruct and study the beliefs and philosophy of Mani, the founder of a long forgotten world religion.The Chester Beatty Library preserves the largest existing collection of the Manichean manuscripts. This little booklet, published to accompany a 2009 exhibition, gives a short introduction to Manichaeism and its sacred texts. The complementing DVD is a collection of visuals with no verbal narration. The DVD is available in European or US region codes.
