Situated in Dublin Castle in the city centre, the Chester Beatty Library is an art museum and library that houses some of the finest treasures of the great cultures of the world, bequeathed to the Irish people by Sir Alfred Chester Beatty (1875-1968).
This Exhibition catalogue tells the story of Beatty’s picture gallery of the nineteenth-century French paintings in his London home and of his later donation of some ninety of these paintings to the Irish Nation.
