This page of text is from chapter 4 of the Qur'an, which bears the title al-Nisa (The Women), and is written in maghribi script. Maghribi developed in the Arab countries west of Egypt and in Muslim Spain, a region known as the Maghrib (meaning ‘west'), hence the name of the script. Typical of the script are deep, voluptuous curves. The text is written in gold ink with each letter outlined in black.
