Persian Steel - A Mirror of Life in Iran
2 June to 15 September 2004
The exhibition tells the story of traditional life in pre-modern Iran through the display of some 250 intricately decorated items of steel, from arms and armour to delicate cosmetic implements.
This intriguing exhibition was originally organised by the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, and has also been shown at the Institut du Monde Arabe, Paris, and the Brunei Gallery, London.
In its Dublin guise, it will incorporate a number of manuscripts and miniature paintings from the Library's Persian Collection.
